PIANO MAINTENANCE

Now that you own a (hopefully) nice piano you also have to keep it in good condition. The piano is a mechanical device and requires not only tuning but other adjustments and repairs as well. There are more than two thousand moving parts in a piano and in time some of them tend to wear out. Regulation is the way to deal with these problems.

I have been looking after my own pianos since the age of twelve and I always enjoyed working on the instruments. Being a good pianist myself I really know how it has to be adjusted to get the best control of the action.

For those of you who are just buying your first piano I have written a short guide that you hopefully will find useful. To view this file, please click here --> HOW TO BUY A PIANO

With my busy timetable I do not have time to engage in full time repairs and tuning but I can give you advice on all aspects on piano repair and rebuilding. I have rebuilt various grand and upright pianos among them Steinway, Heintzman, Ibach, Willis, Young Chang and other makes and tune instruments regularly.
